TREE Foundation is delighted to announce the addition of Michael Barth to our distinguished panel of nine scientific advisors. Michael brings an extraordinary blend of innovation, exploration, and global impact to our team, and we are honored to welcome him aboard.
As Founder and CEO of Voiijer, Michael is building the world’s first operating system for human exploration, a social-first platform designed to empower individuals and communities to explore, discover, and share their observations about the natural world. His work champions a future where integrated XR, AI, and Web3 technologies help transform curiosity into discovery, and screen time into nature time. Under his leadership, Voiijer is poised to become the largest repository of user-generated environmental content and data, reconnecting people with the planet and inspiring new generations of explorers.
Michael’s career spans continents and disciplines. He has led scientific expeditions, developed Bhutan’s first law school, launched the nation’s first impact fund through GNH Partners, founded “upublic” at Columbia University, and contributed to the creation of the U.S. Department of Education’s first national online learning portal for adult education. His achievements have earned him Fellowships in both the Royal Geographical Society and The Explorers Club, where he also founded the Hong Kong Chapter.

TREE Foundation’s Executive Director, Dr. Meg Lowman, serves as the Chief Science Advisor for Voiijer, creating a powerful cross-pollination of science, adventure, and purpose.
