On December 7, 2021 at 3:00 pm Meg Lowman will be joining Williams College for their Society of Alumni Bicentennial Event by speaking at their Purple Prose Author Talk.
We invite you to join leading forest canopy expert and educator Meg Lowman ’76 in conversation with Tom Jorling, former Director of the Center for Environmental Studies at Williams College (1972-1977). Hear about Meg’s life and work in the treetops, as she and Tom discuss her latest book and memoir The Arbornaut: A Life Discovering the Eighth Continent in the Trees Above Us. What can canopy ecology teach us about our planet? How do we conserve global forests and mentor the next generation of women in STEM? Learn the answers to this and much more, as Meg and Tom share their passion for sustainability.
You do not need to be a member of Purple Prose: A Book Club for Ephs to attend this author talk, but you can join the online forum at any time to connect with fellow alumni and members of the Eph community as we read and discuss a new book every two months. Participation in Purple Prose Book Club is free – you just need a copy of the book!
