JOIN US!

Join us for a rare and special opportunity to enjoy a guided tour of the Myakka Canopy Walkway with Dr. Meg Lowman, also known as “CanopyMeg”.

Dr. Lowman led the construction project of the Myakka Walkway—the first public canopy walkway in North America—completed 25 years ago through her role as founder and executive director of the TREE Foundation. Meg will share insights about the Myakka Walkway and other global projects, as well as her journey becoming a pioneer in canopy biology, a world-renowned scientist, and the world’s first female arbornaut. Support The Mission

Donations to the TREE Foundation are encouraged and help support projects that connect children and communities to nature, much like the Myakka Canopy Walkway already does.

These efforts include bringing the Kids in the Canopy vision to life, such as a kid-sized canopy walkway at Oscar Scherer State Park in Osprey, Florida, complete with an adventurous web and treehouse experience designed especially for young explorers, along with educational programs that inspire curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of nature.

Book Lovers

Another meaningful way to show support is by purchasing one of Dr. Lowman’s books. Meg is the author of books like The Arbornaut, and her newest release, Tree Day. Consider bringing one of her books to the event for Meg to sign! It’s a great way to support her work and take home a lasting reminder of this special experience. Meg’s books:
