TREE Foundation’s recent fundraiser at Michael’s on East Wine Cellar was nothing short of inspiring. Surrounded by supporters, partners, and passionate advocates for Florida’s wild places, we came together to celebrate 25 years of the iconic Myakka Canopy Walkway and the bright future ahead for this beloved landmark.
Our guest speaker, Dr. Stephen Leatherman, widely known as Dr. Beach, brought his trademark warmth, expertise, and deep love of conservation to the evening. His stories about Florida’s natural treasures reminded us why protecting and enhancing places like Myakka River State Park matters now more than ever.
We were also delighted to feature Rishik Yellu, who offered guests a fascinating demonstration of PlantWave technology. His interactive presentation allowed attendees to listen to real plant-generated music, adding a unique, immersive layer to the evening and reminding everyone of the hidden intelligence and beauty within nature.
As we gathered in the warm glow of the Wine Cellar, the shared energy in the room made one thing clear. This community cares deeply about the Myakka canopy and the next generation of explorers who will walk among the treetops!
