I am happy to report that our efforts to create a UNESECO world heritage biological rain forest site in Malaysia are coming to fruition. The nomination will be submitted very soon, and includes over 1500 records of species collected from a biodiversity blitz that I organized in 2017 for this cause. See the attached publication and photo! This team, comprised of 65% women scientists (hooray!) created several world-firsts in terms of new applications of field biodiversity survey techniques.

It was an honor to be leading this innovative team.

TREE Foundation continues our quest to conserve forests, both local and global. I will keep you updated on the status of the Penang Hill rain forest!

For the trees,
