Sara has been a lover of trees since she was old enough to climb them. Now 8-yrs-old, she still loves to climb trees but has a greater understanding of their importance.

Sara’s father recently informed her that more than 200 trees were removed at a local park and that there was going to be a memorial service to mourn the loss of these trees. The organizer of the event was hoping to find young volunteers to present posters showcasing the importance of the trees. Sara was eager to participate!

Below is Sara’s poster along with some photos of her enjoying the trees. For her contribution, Sara was presented with a Tree Steward certificate.

Sara's Poster Description: I am climbing a tree in the park and telling a man in a excavator to stop taking down trees. The sun is also telling him to stop. A close view of a leaf (right side) shows how the oxygen we need is being produced.
