Name a Species! Save a Forest ! A great legacy gift!

This new tardigrade species is of the genus Doryphoribius, a group characerized by the gibbosities, or lumps, on their backs and their unique claw pattern. Their appearance is armored and strong, and the species was found in the heart of America, in temperate deciduous forest canopies.

The current bid for naming this species is $3000 — additional bids are accepted, closing on November 1 2013. Funds for this contribution will go toward conservation of Ethiopian church forests.
